  • It opened in April 2015 and is fondly known as the “D.”
  • Douglas Vineyards has won several winemaking competitions with its award-winning wines.
  • The name of the owner and founder of Douglas Vineyards is Charles Douglas Fink. He chose to use his middle name for his wine brand because he felt it sounded like a good name for a wine.
  • Most of Douglas Vineyards customers are from within North Carolina, but the winery also gets customers from surrounding states.
  • Douglas Vineyard’s slogan is “We’re not your typical winery… because we are just laid back”.
  • Visitors to the vineyard can participate in excursions and winetasting tours. Tours of the vineyard include introducing guests to some of Douglas Vineyard’s processes for making their unique vintage. Tasting tours are offered on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • On wine tasting tours, guests are offered various local cheese selections, dressings, pickled vegetables, preserves, salsas, and snacks.

  • Douglas Vineyards specializes in crafting Muscadine, sweet fruit, and dry wines. Its selection of wines consists of four dry wines, three Muscadine wines, two estate-grown wines, ten fruit wines, and two blends.
  • Some of Douglas Vineyard’s most popular products include Sauvignon Blanc, Starting Point, Just Peachy, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Apple Sauce, Carlos, Blush, Noble. Rockin’ Raspberry, Wicked Watermelon, Midnight Blue, Bitchin’ Blackberry, and Pomegranate Punch.
  • It is considered one of the top three must-see wineries in Rowan County, North Carolina.
  • There’s a gift shop where guests can pick up engraved souvenirs, wine gifts, glasses, shirts and more.
  • Douglas Vineyards only uses grapes locally grown in their vineyards.
